About Soulful Transitions
Soulful Transitions was founded by Carol Jessica Swaen, a psychologist and instructional designer, with a deep commitment to helping adults navigate transitions with awareness, compassion, and understanding.

Carol holds a Master of Science in General Psychology and a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology. Her professional background bridges psychological science with thoughtful learning design, allowing her to translate complex inner experiences into clear, accessible, and ethically grounded educational resources.

Why Soulful Transitions
Throughout her work in adult education and professional learning design, Carol observed that many people seek understanding, structure, and tools. Soulful Transitions was created to meet that need.

Carol’s work emphasizes learning, reflection, and self-development. She views transitions not as problems to fix, but as meaningful human experiences that can foster growth when supported by the right knowledge and guidance.

An Educational, Non-Therapeutic Approach
Carol’s role at Soulful Transitions is educator and learning guide. She designs and develops educational experiences that draw from evidence-based psychological approaches, including mindfulness-based practices, acceptance-based and compassion-focused frameworks, somatic awareness, reflective writing, and emotional freedom techniques (EFT Tapping).

These are complemented by consciousness-based perspectives, offered as reflective lenses for exploring awareness, meaning, impermanence, and intentional living. All perspectives are presented within a non-therapeutic, non-clinical scope, with clear boundaries and ethical transparency.

Soulful Transitions Aruba does not provide therapy, diagnosis, counseling, or coaching. Instead, it offers education and tools that support personal insight, emotional understanding, and conscious growth, at each individual’s own pace.

Bridging Psychology and Learning Design
With backgrounds in psychology and instructional design, Carol places strong emphasis on:
-
Psychological safety
-
Clear structure and learning outcomes
-
Adult learning principles
-
Respect for autonomy and choice

This ensures that all courses, workbooks, and templates are not only meaningful but also well-designed, accessible, and responsibly framed, whether used for personal growth or by those creating learning spaces for others.

A Guiding Belief
At the heart of Carol’s work is a simple belief:

Transition does not require fixing. It requires understanding, compassion, and conscious engagement.
Through Soulful Transitions, she continues to create learning spaces and resources that support adults in navigating life’s transitions with clarity, dignity, and intentional growth.
